de la soulmusic catalog is finally coming to the streaming service. Their music will be released digitally and will be released on vinyl, CD and cassette starting in March, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
Reservoir Media and its label Chrysalis have teamed up with De La Soul and its record label AOI to bring their music to the digital streaming service, according to a statement. De La Soul’s first six albums — 1989’s 3 Feet High and Rising, 1991’s De La Soul Is Dead, 1993’s Buhloone Mindstate, 1996’s Stakes Is High, 2000’s Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump, 2001 AOI: Bionix — all available by March 3rd. , his 34th anniversary of the group’s debut album.
De La Soul debuted in 1989 and released eight more albums throughout their career. Their first six albums were withheld from the streaming service due to sample clearances and legal troubles with former label Tommy Boy Records. In 2021, Reservoir Media, which has acquired Tommy Boy, plans to release these projects under the label Chrysalis Records.
