Cody Brown is clearly not a fan of his wife leaving first.
Considering how badly he used to badmouth Christine Brown to anyone who would listen, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
But he doesn’t just blame Christine for destroying the family he’s been sabotaging over the years.
Listening to Cody, the only reason he can’t plead with Janelle to return to the fold is because she’s friends with Christine.
of entertainment tonightIn a sneak peek at Sunday’s “One on Ones” Part 3 episode on Netflix, Kody Brown has high hopes for the future.
He has expressed that he “absolutely” wants to repair his strained (at best) marriage to Janelle.
But would Janelle be interested in meeting him along the way? (Huh!)
“Janelle made it clear that she’s enjoying life without me,” Cody admits in the next episode.
He characterizes it as follows:
Kodi is open to trying to mend things with her, but he has a few conditions.
First and foremost, Kodi demands that Janelle be respected if she tries to grow an olive branch.
“I will not go where I am not respected,” he announced.
“Love is not important to me,” Kodi said, which clearly explains a lot. “Respect is important to me.”
Apparently, Janelle also sat down and talked about her waning respect for her semi-husband.
“it is [respect him still]” she admitted.
“But I am very upset with what happened to my children.”
“It’s very hard,” Janelle said.
And she added, “I’m losing respect for him at that point.”
Viewers are well aware that Kodi is currently estranged from multiple children.
Meanwhile, Janelle can sense how much disrespect Cody threw in her direction—always seemingly in favor of Robin.
“I wish he really cared about me and my kids,” she said.
Janelle suggested, “I would have figured out a way to make it work for the whole family.”
She added that he could have found a better solution “instead of having his rules and hanging out with his wife.”
“And,” Janelle quoted, “he stayed where he was ‘respected and obeyed.'”
Additionally, she has confirmed that she is not in love with Cody despite her long marriage and six adult children.
“If we were really sitting down, I think we would look at each other and say, ‘Really?,'” commented Janelle.
As for why she’s with him… she admitted that their faith puts pressure on spouses to stay together… even when they shouldn’t.
“Cody and I are so happy we broke up,” Janelle spouted.
The divorce decision was made after she realized things were “indifferent” in her marriage.
“It doesn’t matter,” Janelle says.
And Kodi’s interview explained why he believes the settlement with Janelle isn’t the starter…it’s by a third party.
“We’re in a new location. Christine’s left. Janelle likes her,” Cody explained in an interview.
He then jokes about how their friendship has truly blossomed in recent years.
“How come they couldn’t be such good siblings!?” Cody grumbles.
