Tyler, Texas (KETK) – If you were driving on Loop 323 or Broadway near Tyler’s Mall, you might have noticed a large tent.
European-style circus act Cirque Italia will appear for one weekend only.
This is just one of many stops in the US for traveling circus acts decked out with aerialists, acrobats and more.
The large top tent caught the eye of many East Texans curious about what was inside.
“I saw a circus come to town. It was a water circus. My great-granddaughter loves circuses, so it’s new for us to come see,” said audience member Harold Craig.
Inside, you’ll find America’s first mobile water circus with a new eco-friendly water stage.
Cirque Italia crew member Bogdan Midi said:
Most of the acts in this pirate-themed show center around water. Everything you see at Cirque Italia takes about a day or more to set up. It can then be removed almost overnight.
The international crew said they were thrilled to be back on Tyler.
“I’m so happy to be back. We were last here in 2016, when we at Cirque Italia only had one show unit,” added Rosenthal.
The 55-person group continues to move after the weekend, entertaining wider audiences across the country. The Cirque Italia show will remain in Lone Star status until the end of February.
Their next destination is Grand Prairie.
