On Monday, January 16th, Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer’s Down Home Fab premiered on the HGTV network.
HGTV has a lot of name recognition, but it’s pretty niche for most TV viewers. That’s not a bad thing, but it does mean that it rarely dominates the timeslots that major cable channels do.
However, it reportedly drew 678,000 viewers for its Monday night premiere.

But what really gets people’s attention is how these debut numbers compare to certain other shows.

Interest in actually sitting down and watching an episode is waning, even as MTV tries to breathe new life into the franchise.
It’s not just about casting either. Culture has changed. Sure, people are still interested in witnessing the horrors of intergenerational trauma play out on camera, but perhaps the interest isn’t what it was in its heyday. teen mom.
