The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) BEST program for youth ages 8 to 21 co-hosted a celebrity showdown at the Battle of Clark County Cattle to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC). Held an online auction to bring. Clark County Cattle Producers sponsored this event.
The Celebrity Showdown took place at the Champions Center in Springfield on January 20, 2021. This year’s judge was Ohio State Football Tight his end Cade Stover, with a special appearance by Ohio State Football linebacker Steele Chambers. Through donations from family, friends, the community and members of the OCA, the young man who attended the Celebrity Showdown raised $17,383 for the show.
The team that led the fundraising was HR Cattle Company, which raised $5,005. The other team/participant with the most funding was his Aiden Ruffing and Austin Hunker at $2,325. Kasen Cole his $2,008. Austin Sutherley $1,550. $1,245 for Lara, Lexi and Rylan Rittenhouse. Bentley with Haley Clem, Alex Oldham, Cordelia and Jolly Irvin for $1,165. The overall winner of the celebrity showdown, chosen by Stover and Chambers for having the best costume, was Garrett Reusch in the Duke of Hazzard costume.
An online auction was also held where a number of items were put up for sale, raising $16,000 thanks to many generous backers. Encouragement Awards will be presented to top community service fundraisers at the OCA BEST Program Awards Banquet on May 6, 2023. Anyone can easily donate online at www.ohiocattle.org/best/community-service. Donations can also be attributed to his BEST participant’s name via an online donation form. Online donations must be made before May 6, 2023 to qualify for his BEST Participant Cumulative Fundraising Total for the year.
