Thursday was just another day for the staff at Salon Beni Hair Salon on E. Mt. Vernon Street in downtown Somerset. But that all changed when some of the staff noticed HGTV star David Bromstad walking out of the door of Serendipity at nearby Serendipity at Orange.
Bromstad is one of the stars of HGTV’s most enduring and popular reality hit series My Lottery Dream Home. Bromstad takes recent lottery winners on the best home hunt for their new dream home.
“Some girls saw them (my lottery dream home film crew) walking down the street and filming,” said Joni Malcolm, owner of Salon Beni. ) recognized him (Bromstad) walking down the street because she was watching the show, they saw him go into serendipity.”
Wanting to meet the TV celebrity, the entire Salon Beni staff took to the streets in hopes of meeting and talking to Bromstad.
“We waited until he came out and then yelled at him,” Trusty laughed. “He said he’d come take a picture with me. So we crossed the street, I took a picture with him
Salon Beni staff weren’t sure exactly what Blomstad and his crew were doing in Somerset, but speculated that they were filming someone looking to buy a home locally. bottom. “I knew they were filming,” Malcolm explained. “It turns out they filmed him walking down the street and going to Serendipity. Then they filmed him there. Talk to people they’re looking to buy homes and talk about what they’re going to do.”
Sara Cox has seen the My Lottery Dream Home show a few times and was excited to meet the show’s star.
“He was like him on the show,” said Cox. “He spoke to us and was very nice. He was at work and seemed to be doing a lot of things. I think we kind of took a break from that.” But he was very nice to us.”
Shortly after the photos were taken and posted on social media, many in the Somerset area were wondering where the My Lottery Dream Home TV crew was filming.
“Ever since we posted that picture, everyone has wanted to know where he is and what he’s been doing here.
According to some sources, My Lottery Dream Home was being filmed in the Eagle’s Nest area after leaving downtown Somerset.
