Eleven Carroll County Career & Technology Center students in the Textile & Fashion Career Program are working to complete 12 unique outfits to showcase at a special fashion show next week.
Scheduled for January 13th at 6:30 pm, the fashion show will feature student-designed costumes modeled after about 250 spectators. School, 1229 Washington Road, Westminster.
Ashleigh Becraft, a 17-year-old Westminster High School junior and Finksburg resident, said: “We put a lot of time and effort into what we do, so all of these costumes are very close and dear to our hearts. I’m really excited to show everyone what I’ve created.”
Textile and fashion careers instructor Catherine Harris says students work together to plan events, and are given roles designed to reflect their real-life fashion industry experience.

“When we teach, our students are able to put what they’ve learned into practice. That’s what it’s all about,” Harris said. “I try to stay out of as many things as possible.”
Tickets to the fashion show are $15 and can be ordered by calling the Career and Technology Center at 410-751-3669. Tickets are likely to sell out, Harris said.
