news: Club Monaco will be the featured designer at the 2023 Brass Ring Luncheon & Fashion Show, with a ‘luxury lifestyle’ apparel line ranging from loungewear to special occasions.
The Guild of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation will take place March 31 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Tickets are so popular that they are sold out in advance, so those who want to participate should purchase early.
This year marks the 45th edition of the Brass Ring Luncheon & Fashion Show. Lori Finch and Carol Hamer are co-chairs. CBS Colorado Newscaster Michael Spencer will officiate at the ceremony, with primary sponsors being Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, Acrobat & Foley Family Wines and Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.
A retired teacher, Finch has been active in the diabetes community since 2005 when her five-year-old daughter Christina was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She is the former president of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation Guild and lives in Foxfield with her husband Larry and her four children.
Hammer, a Colorado native who lives in Lakewood, has two family members with type 1 diabetes. She and her husband of 39 years, Steve, are parents to eight children and grandparents to seven. She is the guild’s corresponding secretary.
“This year will be the first year that both men’s and women’s designs will be on the catwalk, making it an exciting event for the whole family,” said Finch.
Funds raised at the Brass Ring Luncheon & Fashion Show will support the Guild for Diabetes at the Barbara Davis Center at Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.Center conducts research and promotes diabetes awareness
and education, support families as needed, provide scholarships, sponsor activities for children and families with diabetes, and twice a year for children ages 5 to 13 with type 1 diabetes. is hosting a diabetes camp.

About our organization: The Children’s Diabetes Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, provides funding for patient advocacy, diabetes research and public education. Founded in 1977 by Barbara and the late Marvin Davis after her daughter Dana was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 7 years old. Dana Davis currently serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director.
