Since 2019, Saint Kate-The Arts Hotel has been offering live music, art exhibitions, theater, cocktails and cuisine from steak to pizza. Its location is close to the Riverwalk, theaters, Lake Michigan, and the 3rd Ward. Winning multiple categories is a feather in this unique destination cap. Milwaukee Art Museum

Added by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the museum’s soaring spire has become a symbol of Milwaukee. In winter, nothing beats a heated underground car park. The Milwaukee Art Museum builds on its strong collection spanning the ancient world of yesteryear and presents several significant exhibitions each calendar year. The exhibition, After Ashcan: The 14th Street School, which runs until March 26, presents the artist as a reflection of his scene in early 20th-century America’s gritty urban landscape. –David Luhrssen

Art & Craft Fair/Makers Market

Milwaukee Makers Market

To support local artisans, Ryan Laessig launched the Milwaukee Makers Market in 2015 as a small outdoor event in Colectivo Coffee’s Bayview parking lot. Now held at venues such as Discovery World and The Ivy House, the Market has grown into a thriving hub for manufacturers to sell their products and network with customers and other artists. Britt Nicole

Britt Nicole is a poet, vocalist, healer, performer and musician. In her 2013 she co-founded PENtastic open mic. Currently, she hosts her Lyrical Sanctuary of open mics and is involved with Heal the Hood MKE, the Wisconsin Association for Child and Youth Care Professionals, and the Rooted Society.
