Awards season kicked off in earnest at the annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. For a week, Hollywood’s top star descended on California for various film screenings and panel discussions. While the event was decidedly more casual than the formal Golden Globes and Oscars, there were still some statements to be witnessed, including surreal silhouettes and archival jewels.
