In an apology issued on Sunday, Hornerley wrote:
Newspaper gossip columnist Andrew Hornery (pictured) has apologized to celebrity accountant Anthony Bell after an article last weekend made false claims about him.
“The Sun Herald deplores the suggestion that Mr. Bell is the founder of the ‘Boys Club’ and does not have proper family values.
“We acknowledge that Mr Bell was a bystander in the Noosa incident referred to in the article and was in no way part of the dispute.
“The Sun-Herald sincerely apologizes for the hurt and suffering this article has caused Mr. Bell, his family and friends,” read the statement.
The article has since been taken down online.
