Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly are no strangers to presenting I’m A Celebrity from the Australian outback. But in a new series in South Africa, camp buddies from the past 20 years will compete for savannah legends. Joining Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show, the Geordie duo shared details about the new series.
Dec explains:
“I mean, it’s a completely different landscape and they’re doing it again.
“They’re competing to be the first-ever I’m A Celebrity ‘Legend of the Savannah.’ It’s very special.”
Ant went on to add:

“It’s pretty brutal, so that’s how the winner was determined.”
“We did it and we shot it. It’s really, really good,” Dec confirmed.
When asked how it was different from being in Australia, Ant explained that wildlife was involved in the trial.
“But when we shot the series, there were a lot of baboons,” he recalled.
“It was an audience, yeah! Hopefully there will be a few more viewings when it airs on television…”
“There was no laughter from the baboon!” Ant joked.
The full lineup for the I’m a Celebrity spinoff has yet to be confirmed, but there’s been plenty of speculation about who might be back.
According to The Sun, viewers can watch Carol Borderman, Amir Khan, Phil Tufnell, and Helen Flanagan compete.
Andy Whitement, who joined just a few years ago, is also believed to be returning with fan favorite Mylene Crass.
An ITV spokesperson said of the line-up: In South Africa, 2023 is approaching contagion. ”
The series will take place in South Africa’s Kruger National Park and may air before the main series resumes in winter 2023.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
