Amy Duggar is basically a member of the Duggar family in name only.
She’s been critical of Jim Bob and company for years, and most Duggars have nothing to do with her.
Still, she’s mostly famous for her association with a gang of the most messed up fundamentalist freaks in reality television history.
As a result, Amy says she is still being harassed and trash-talked daily by strangers online.
Amy addressed the issue in a stunning TikTok video posted over the weekend.
“[I’m] I realize that even with kind and sincere intentions, you can’t please everyone,” Amy captioned the clip below.
“I am always compared to other family members,” she complained.
“I get attacked all the time because of my maiden name, and there’s nothing I can do to change that.”
Amy went on to reveal that she believes all reality stars receive criticism, but said she appreciates the platform she’s been given.
“These are the low points of being part of reality TV,” she wrote.
“Thank you to those who support and watch over me.”
Clearly, Amy has amassed quite an army of hate over the years, but anyone accusing her of simply being a Dagger must be pretty confused.
For years, Amy has openly criticized the Jim Bob branch of the family.
Even before Josh Duggar was arrested on child pornography charges, Amy had little contact with the rest of the family, and now it seems she’s completely cut ties.
“The ‘crazy’ Duggar cousin… turned out to be normal,” reads Amy’s TikTok bio.
On her page, Amy not only captures her family, but the bizarre cult that has enabled a culture of abuse over the years.
Earlier this week, she shared an unsettling memory of her youth, explaining that when she was a child, Cabbage Patch Kid dolls were strictly forbidden in her family’s church.
“These dolls came with an adoption certificate and I had to put my name on them and say I was going to love the dolls, so they were ‘evil,'” Amy captioned the photo above. was attached.
“But by signing a written agreement to love their dolls, children are clearly violating the first commandment and, as a result, directly rebelling against God,” she continued.
“None of us were allowed to have it. My mother didn’t want to upset my brother.”
Of course, the brother in question was Jim Bob, who apparently was quite guarded when it came to demon dolls, but he couldn’t prevent the abuse that took place under his roof over the years.
Yes, Amy’s family is as dysfunctional as you can imagine, but against all odds, she seems to have found true happiness in adulthood.
Last week, she welcomed the new year with a quiet celebration at home with her husband and son.
“I don’t know what 2023 has in store for me, but I have a real family and honestly that’s what matters to me!” she captioned the photo above.
“We tried to stay up until midnight.. but it’s not happening!! Goodnight Thank you for your love and support!!
See you in 2023. ”
Amy has overcome a lot in her life so far, but she still remains optimistic and these days her future looks as bright as it could possibly be.
