Given that the start of the coronavirus pandemic and the shutdown of regularly operating society, the days have all sort of blurred together. There hasnt been a single morning where Ive awakened confident about what day it remains in probably a month. The good news is there are still a few markers to help us view the passage of time, like when my property manager stops disregarding all my text asking if Im ever going to get the mailbox thats consisted of in my lease in order to remind me its the first of the month so hand over the lease, and, more happily, the return of Saturday Night Live.
October 3 marks the beginning of season 46 (so, next month. Its September, by the method) and today, all of us got some interesting updates on whats to come.
Before we get into it, however– it is very important to keep in mind that SNL is dealing with Governor Cuomo and other authorities to make sure everybody is safe and within the appropriate COVID security standards.
First, there will be 3 new folks signing up with the lineup in addition to the entire cast from last season. Former and comic personnel writer Andrew Dismukes, comic and star Lauren Holt, and comedian and writer Punkie Johnson. Second of all, theyre generating another comic you may have heard of– Jim Carrey. Hes quite funny, I think hes gon na be big one day. Jim Carrey will join this season to play Joe Biden, a role thats been passed in between Jason Sudeikis, John Mulaney, and Woody Harrelson. If anyone can record the chaotic, “where the heck am I, Jack”- ness of Biden, its Jim Carrey, and with Alec Baldwin and Maya Rudolph returning to play Trump and Kamala Harris, respectively, this is certainly a season to get thrilled about.

And, folks, Jim Carrey looks actually, truly great.
They wig is extraordinary, the colored eyebrows are a little frightening but regrettably also really precise, and, most significantly, he nailed Bidens trademark, uber-wide smile.
